My Story: From Caregiver to Founder
Cancer Sneakers of Hope was born from a deeply personal journey—one rooted in love, loss, faith, and the desire to bring hope to others facing cancer.
I lost my mother to multiple myeloma after experiencing firsthand what it means to be a caregiver. Walking alongside her through cancer was one of the hardest experiences of my life. I witnessed the physical and emotional toll that cancer takes—not only on the person receiving treatment, but on the entire family.
For years after my mother’s passing, I knew I wanted to give back to a cause that honored her memory and supported others affected by cancer. I just wasn’t sure what that would look like or how I could make an impact.
Then cancer touched my family again.
With several family members facing cancer treatment, I found myself experiencing those emotions all over again. I began thinking about the many people navigating this journey: the parent sitting beside a child in a hospital room, wondering how to keep them encouraged; the caregiver who is exhausted and needs a moment to breathe; and the survivor who has completed treatment and is now asking, “What’s next for me?”
I realized that cancer treatment is about so much more than the medical journey. There is also a need for emotional relief, creativity, encouragement, and something that reminds people that their story is still being written.
That’s when I believe God gave me the vision for Cancer Sneakers of Hope.
What began as a desire to give back became a mission to provide moments of relief, inspiration, creativity, and hope to people affected by cancer.
Through our Cancer Sneakers of Hope kits, we use creativity as an outlet—giving patients and families an opportunity to step away from the heaviness of the hospital experience, even if only for a moment, and create something meaningful.
As I continued to listen to the needs of survivors, the vision expanded to include tumbler kits—a creative way to encourage those who are entering a new chapter and creating a new vision for their lives after treatment.
Cancer Sneakers of Hope is about more than sneakers, tumblers, or art. It is about reminding people that cancer may be a part of their story, but it does not have to define their entire story.
My hope is that every kit brings a moment of relief to a caregiver, a smile to a child, encouragement to a patient, and inspiration to a survivor who is discovering what comes next.
This is my purpose. This is my passion. This is my way of turning pain into purpose and creating hope—one step at a time.
